Melody Ann Chalk, born August 28, 1978 in New Orleans LA, daughter of Cheryl Degere Chalk of Delmar, NY and the late Alton John Chalk of New Orleans, LA succumbed to complications from a long battle with diabetes.

An accomplished athlete, she attended schools in New Orleans, before she moved with her family to Williamstown in 1994, where she completed her education. She loved to cook, and held many jobs as a cook. She has also been a home health aide, and a deli manager.

She made quick friends wherever she went. She leaves a long list of friends who shared many adventures and challenges with her.

Besides her mother she leaves a daughter Maya Chalk of Delmar, NY, a brother Brandon Chalk of Rutland VT and her step-father Michael Norton of Delmar NY. She also leaves an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Her family thanks the staff and patients at the North Adams Dialysis Center for their kindness and support. We are deeply grateful for her peaceful transition managed by Hospice of Northern Berkshire.
